My Domino Ultra Violet Mini Filofax

I love the color, it's very purple-ly.  The size is very convenient for just jotting down ideas or thoughts that hit me at any given moment, or for jotting down notes or things I want to remember when the moment presents itself.  I keep it next to where I see when I'm relaxing on my laptop or watching the television.
I made the dividers from scrapbook paper, you can see the different sections I labeled pretty clearly.
I have the month on two pages in here just so that I can get a quick view of the date.  I found the mini pen in a small journal that I had been given as a gift.
I like having this handy next to me so that I can keep a reminder on different things that I might see or hear.

  1. It sounds like a kind of (GTD) inbox. Do you process what gets written on it latter and move it to another binder or do you just leave it there for future reference?

I've bought a used Domino mini in purple myself that I'm planning to use in a similar way when I get it (it's been already posted to me), but I think I'll be moving most of the notes somewhere else to avoid having information about the same subjects scattered through several places (binders). Not sure how I'll do it exactly, though.

    1. I haven't really done anything with my notes yet. Every once in a while I'll go back and look through them and decide what action I might take on them. For me, it's more like a collection of thoughts to reminisce later on and to remember. Hope that helps.

  2. Oh, I've been wanting an excuse for a mini. haha You just gave me one. I have a pocket one I could use for the same purpose but the mini is just so cute but I didn't think it would serve any purpose for me as I find the pocket too small for my daily diary. But a little mini domino sitting next to me on my side table for spontaneous ideas...love that! You enabler you!! :) :)

    1. My purple Domino mini it's already on its way to me. Let's hope I get it tomorrow. :-)

There's also a Bond mini on it's way, which I'll be using out and about, but my Domino will be a 'home' binder too. LOL

    2. Cheryl, I'm LOL! I'm not sure that being an "enabler" is a good thing or a bad thing. I'm just trying to justify my addiction. hehehe

      Glad to help, anyway! :0)

    3. Neolicht, that's the worst part of getting a Filofax, waiting for it, I do hope you get it soon. Have a great day!

    4. Got the Bond mini today. I love it. It's such a cute little thing... I thing I'm going to use it a lot as a capture notes binder. I don't think I'll use it as a planner, though, at least for the time being. For that I'm planning to use a slim organiser (not Filofax) that I'be bought very cheap on Ebay to try it out and see if the tiny rings and the personal size inserts work for me...

Still waiting for the cool purple Domino mini... perhaps tomorrow... LOL

    5. It never arrived. :-(

After about three weeks waiting, I contacted the seller to let them know. They said they were sorry and they would send me a full refund and claim their money back from Royal Mail, without any further questions. Before I could react, I found out they had refunded the full amount (the price I paid for the mini plus the package and postage fee.)

While waiting, I've read a few reviews about the Domino, and I think I'd have really liked it a lot. I'm very disappointed that I didn't get it. In the mean time, I've been using the Bond mini to take notes, as I intended to use the Domino. I love that little thing, and I'll keep using it for that. But I also think I still want a Domino, although probably in personal size, or even A5. We'll see... :-)

    6. You won't believe it. I couldn't myself.

After almost a month and when I thought I'd never get it, and I even got a full refund for the money I paid (included p&p cost), the Domino mini in purple showed up inside a tiny package in my mailbox. Yay!

I quickly contacted the seller and let them know, and immediately paid them for it again. I transferred the inserts from the mini Bond in black to the lovely Domino, which has been close to me at home all the time since then.

It's really incredible, but I've gone from thinking the Dominos where ugly (with the white rubber band and all) to the purple mini being my favorite Filofax, really. It's light, narrow (without a clasp taking so much space), and it holds a lot for its size.

I definitely need an A5 Domino and probably a personal, too. I keep a section for English vocabulary and expressions in the mini, which I capture while reading or watching British or American TV series. It's growing really fast and it'll soon need an upgrade to a larger size. Isn't that a good excuse for a new larger Domino? :-)

  3. Indeed, Mary, that's the worse part of buying anything on-line. On the other hand, it helps you build the emotion and the expectations, and when you get your purchase it's even more satisfying, I guess. LOL

You too have a good day! :)
