I Love My Raspberry Chameleon Pocket FF As My Wallet

I've been using my Raspberry Chameleon Pocket Filofax as my wallet for a few weeks now and it's been working really well. So technically, I always have two FF's with me at all times, and sometimes three.   My Personal Ochre and my Personal Vintage Pink Maldens are usually with me or close by at all times.  I keep this one in my purse, obviously, because it's my wallet  The pen is special to me, it was gifted by a friend for my birthday, and isn't it sweet that it matches so beautifully!

I love that this part of the pocket opens up, a nice place for cash or important receipts and such.
This front section holds some credit cards and my driver's license and opposite some jot pads for quick lists, measurements  or things to remember to buy.  Then I have two business card holders for more credit cards, library card, shopping club card, and gift cards.  It's nice having a place for all of that and it's easy to spot when I need them.
Some jot pad notes that I keep with me, next time I'm at the post office I know what stamps I need to buy and there are measurements of some windows that I want to re-drape.  Love that those things are with me.
My sections contain ruled paper and I use them to keep master lists of what I buy at certain stores.  That way if I'm going I can look at the lists and see if I'm forgetting something.  I mostly buy the same things over and over again.  I know what we like so that makes it easy.  I love having a master list.
At the back I have a clear envelope for stashing receipts or notes or lists.
Then comes the change pocket on the back.  I try to use my change whenever I can because it makes the FF somewhat bulky if I don't.
Well there it is, using this pocket Chameleon this way has been very beneficial to my needs.  Hope you liked this post!

Watch the video below that inspired me to want to get the Pocket Chameleon!  Thanks again judithenbart

  1. Such a beautiful wallet! Do you keep any calender pages in the Chameleon?

  2. No I don't, I don't feel that I need a calendar in there. I have my Personal size Ochre Malden in my bag as well, oh, and my iPhone. Thanks for asking!

  3. I am considering doing this too. I think it would work for me. I would not keep my addresses in it but would change that out for my calendar. Only because my addresses and contacts are in my iPhone and my phone is always with me.

I love the little jot pads you use. Are those a Post it knock off? I looked on the filofax usa website to see where exactly the place you keep your cash is and I cannot see where it is.

Lovely post. Thank you so much!

    1. Hi Debbie, Thanks for your comment - The whole top edge of the pocket opens up. I added a link to the video that inspired me with this Chameleon Pocket. I put the link at the end of the post, check it out!

  4. PS I carry too many coupon cards (ie cards from Banana Republic for 20 % off etc). I have those in a clear case in my purse. Maybe if I use the pocket chameleon as a wallet I do what you did and buy a couple of the business card holders and just keep gift cards and other cards in those?

    thanks for your help!

    1. That's what I did! It helps me to remember what I have until I use them up. It's nice because they remain very visible.

  5. Mary I see that you are near Chicago and I am going to Chicago at the end of this month with my husband and son and wondered if on saturday Sept 29th we might organize a meet up? At a store so I can see Filofaxes?

I am new to this and would love to meet you and see filos in person! I live in an area where mail order is the only option.

Is there a great store in Chicago or Oak Brook (where we are staying) that has a good selection?

  6. Oh how exciting! I'm actually a good hour away from the Chicago and Oakbrook. I'm far NW suburb of Chicago. I'm not familiar with the shopping there. I would do a web search for Oakbrook and see if there are any stores there that sell Filofax. The weekend of the 29th is my hubby's b'day weekend and we might be going camping that weekend. I actually do all my shopping online because I haven't found any stores around here that sell Filofaxes. I wonder if Woodfield Shopping mall has a Filofax retailer. That would be half way between Oakbrook and where I live. I added my email to my profile - you can email me directly and then we can talk. ;0)

  7. Awwwww Debbie, how wonderful that my little video inspired you to setup a pocket Chameleon as your wallet! I actually find that the Chameleon is the most suitable model for a wallet, because it has so many card slots and a roomy zip pocket. That's why I splurged on another pocket Chameleon in the color Aqua aswell, he he.

    1. Hi Jotje! I think you meant this note for me, Mary, I was inspired by your video and I love using the pocket chameleon. I haven't thought of having the Acqua too. What a wonderful thought...!

  8. I do this too! All I have on the rings are a couple of card holders, a section with my spending record, and a section with vouchers etc in a top opening envelope.

I have a second wallet too, one of those plain zippy rectangle that I use when I don't want to carry two Filofaxes or have a small bag.
